Visit of EMERCOM of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ministry of Interior of Serbia

On July 23, 2021, the Minister of Interior of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin met with the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic Boobek Azhikeev. Ministers spoke about the development of cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergencies.

The Kyrgyz side initiated a visit to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia to establish cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center.

Minister Vulin thanked the Kyrgyz Republic for the principled respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and the non-recognition of the pseudo-state of Kosovo. He also noted that it is a great honor for him to support Minister Azhikeev to deepen cooperation between two ministries in the field of prevention and elimination of emergencies.

During the conversation, Vulin emphasized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia is open to improving bilateral cooperation by establishing direct contacts to ensure adequate emergency and disaster risk management.

Azhikeev thanked Vulin for the opportunity to meet personally and exchange experience and the chance to get acquainted with the work of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center, which is known as a good example of humanitarian assistance institution, not only in Serbia but in the region.

Vulin noted that he was pleased to know that the work of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center was highly appreciated and invited the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyz Republic to participate in international and regional exercises, as well as exchange experience in training of fire and rescue units.

The ministers touched upon the topic of the migrant crisis, which is relevant for the Kyrgyz Republic as well. In the conversation, Minister Vulin conveyed the Serbian experience and examples of response to the migrant crisis, which led to establish the situation and reduce the number of migrants in the state.
